The Blocks is a place past the University. It consists of a square grid of endlessly tall stellar apartment buildings separated by sixteen-lane arterial roads. It's home to the roommates of the apartment on the octillionth floor and the Performers.
The Blocks is one of two major population centres at the end of history. Due to it's extreme isolation, it has a highly distinctive culture, broadly unknown to people living in neighbouring regions. Similarly, people living high up in the buildings themselves tend to have cultures and often complete, self-sufficient societies wildly different from those who live near the surface—this is particularly the case for those who live in buildings lacking a functional elevator. Few leave the Blocks, and fewer visit. The Blocks are variably governed by factions associated with Irven-Cain Unlimited, though they operate with little to no direct oversight.
